EL FASHER (10 Sep .) -
A preliminary survey recently conducted by the Child Welfare Department of North Darfur state has determined that there are more than 900 homeless children in North Darfur state, of whom 750 are roaming the streets of its capital El Fasher.
Still in El Fasher, Dr Abdulah Yusuf, general manager of the capital’s hospital disclosed that his facility is in dire need of more staff, provision of modern medical equipment, and a complete review of the hospital’s sewage system.
“The El Fasher hospital suffers from water shortage and electricity problems. It also lacks modern medical equipment; especially dialysis, endoscopy and intensive care devices, as well as specific children's rooms,” he told Radio Dabangha.
Yusuf demanded the development of oxygen production in the state.
