WAM Mindanao, Philippines, 8th June 2013 - Nearly 500 families hit by Typhoon Bofa in Mindanao, Philippines, received food assistance from the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA).
The food parcels were distributed to the families who are living in camps in the presence of Musa Abdul Wahed Al Khaja, UAE Ambassador to Philippines, and Senator Richard Gordon, President of the Philippine National Red Cross.
Head of the RCA relief team Mohammed Al Zarounie said the first consignment of assistance said the UAE relief agency was targeting 5,000 affected families in Mindanao region, south of Philippines.
Senator Richard Gordon, President of the Philippine National Red Cross thanked the RCA for its humanitarian initiatives towards the people of Philippines.
