AN outbreak of dengue fever has been reported in Karachi. According to the data compiled by the dengue surveillance cell, more than 2,860 dengue cases have been reported this year in Sindh so far.
Over 2,500 cases of them have been reported in Karachi alone. Last year more than 700 people suffered from dengue fever and four of them, including a woman, died of it. This deadly tropical disease is taking lives so quickly. The question here is: if the government is running campaigns and taking precautionary measures, why is the disease still so rife?
I want to ask the government who is responsible for the loss of lives? Who is going to support the kith and kin of those who died of this deadly disease? One must prevent one’s self from a bite of a mosquito, prevent mosquitoes from growing in water, kill them by sprays and, most significantly, drink unontaminated water.
