NOV 2013 One generation of breeding occurred on the northern coast of the Red Sea in Yemen where egg-laying (by adults that arrived from summer breeding areas in the interior) and hatching took place in September and October. Hoppers formed groups and bands in October and November. Fledging occurred from early October to mid-November. An immature swarm was reported on 23 November. The new adults matured and laying eggs from mid-November onwards. Second generation hatching and band formation will increase throughout December and January. Second generation swarms could start to form in late January. Smaller infestations are present on the central and Gulf of Aden coasts.
