A Russian Emergencies Ministry has delivered another cargo of humanitarian aid in Khabarovsk, which then will be sent in the Jewish Autonomous Region.
Over 36 tonnes – tinned food, cereals, bottled water, household chemicals, baby food and diapers, sets of heaters, bedding – were allocated by the government of Sakhalin Region for the people affected by the flood in the Jewish Autonomous Region. In all, since the beginning of the floods the Jewish Autonomous Region has received over 70 tonnes of humanitarian cargoes.
As of 1 September there are 27 settlements flooded in 6 municipalities of the Jewish Autonomous Region. 1,299 houses populated by 5,000 people remain flooded in 23 settlements.
