KHARTOUM, Aug 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait to send, next Sunday, an airbridge of 10 planes to deliver a USD 2.5 million aid to Sudan's latest flood victims, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Sudan Dr. Sulaiman Abduallah Al-Harbi announced Thursday.
This move comes under the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the envoy told KUNA. He noted that the fleet will be operated by Kuwait Red Crescent Society. He expressed hope that this humanitarian support will alleviate the sufferings of the victims who lost their families and their properties due to heavy rains.
Sudan's latest floods have killed more than 73 people and displaced more than 150,000 others, in addition, to causing damage to more than 55 private and public properties.
