ERF UPDATE
In June, the OCHA Humanitarian Financing Team conducted ten meetings with INGOs & NNGOs to increase their awareness on ERF criteria and expectation. Challenges facing the NGOs to return their proposals to the HFU in timely manner following rounds of comments from respective Clusters, ERF Review Board and HFU were also discussed.
Options for capacity building of national were discussed with international NGOs. INGO were encouraged to assist in mentoring national NGOs, through ERF funded projects.
Humanitarian Financing Team (HFT) analyzed and submitted an analysis of Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan (YHRP) 2013 financial status for inclusion into the YHRP Mid-Year Review for publication.
Humanitarian Financing team held its first ERF Advisory Board Meeting of the year. The meeting was chaired by HC/RC. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the funding status, the 2012 achievements, and six months achievements in 2013, as well as the way forward. Change in the composition of the AB and RB members was discussed and agreed upon.
At directive of the OCHA HoO, the Humanitarian Financing Manager (HFM) engaged Qatar Charity (QC) and potential implementing partners (Handicap International) to fund a tripartite (ERF, DFID and QC) project. This initiative is intended to catalyze future collaboration with regional donors like QC.
One NGOs project was approved by the HC for budget amendment.
The HF team developed monitoring plan which covers north, west and south ERF projects
